Dr. Daria Brooks Terrell, MD

Dr. Daria Brooks Terrell, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon originally from Chicago. At the Center for Better Aging, Dr. Terrell directs integrated care for older adults, focusing on both medical and social needs through diagnostics, procedures, and preventive health. She collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to improve care for communities on Chicago’s South Side.
Dr. Terrell serves as chairman of the Department of Surgery and oversees initiatives to improve patient safety and ensure excellence in surgical care. She has over 25 years of experience in treating complex bone and joint conditions and is certified in wound care.
Dr. Terrell’s approach is patient-centered and equity-focused, dedicated to improving quality of life, expanding access, and mentoring future clinicians. Her clinical areas of interest include osteoporosis, recognizing the effects of social determinants of health, advocating for preventive health, and ending healthcare disparities.
She earned her MD degree from Case Western Reserve University, completed orthopedic residency at the University of Pittsburgh, and a fellowship at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C..
